Emerging Professional

At BRIC, we believe compelling and effective K–12 design grows from authentic engagement with the communities we serve — and from our ability to capture, reflect, and celebrate diverse voices and experiences. BRIC Architecture is seeking emerging professionals to join us as we design places that welcome, engage, and support generations of learners.

We welcome candidates with 0–5 years of experience, whether your strengths lean toward design, visualization, technical development, or you’re still exploring what path excites you most. Our teams are structured to support growth, mentorship, learning, and discovery — wherever you are in your professional journey.

What You’ll Do

As an Emerging Professional at BRIC, you will:

• Contribute to concept and schematic design through research, sketches, drawings, and model-building.

• Support development of design solutions informed by community engagement, equitable practices, and diverse perspectives.

• Assist with design development and construction documents, including detail development and coordination.

• Collaborate with project team members and consultants using digital collaboration tools.

• Participate in construction administration activities with guidance from project leadership.

• Bring your ideas, curiosity, questions, and unique perspective to strengthen the team and the work. You are not expected to be fluent in all areas — we will help you grow. You can lean into design, technical documentation, research, or visualization depending on your interests.

What You Bring

• A degree in Architecture (B.Arch, M.Arch, or equivalent).

• 0–5 years of professional experience (internship experience counts).

• Proficiency in Revit and basic familiarity with SketchUp or other 3D modeling tools.

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

• Comfort with digital collaboration tools such as Miro and Microsoft Teams.

• A growth mindset, eagerness to learn, and desire to work within a collaborative, community-centered practice.

• ARE progress or interest in pursuing licensure.

• Experience or interest in community engagement or with K–12 environments.

What We’re Looking For

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• Curiosity and the ability to explore and communicate big ideas.

• A desire to learn from the stories and experiences of students, educators, and communities.

• Willingness to engage with uncertainty, iterate, and evolve ideas.

• Care for team culture, mentorship, support, and shared growth.

• Interest in developing a broad skill set across design, visualization, documentation, and coordination.
