Reynolds High School – Addition & Remodel

Reynolds School District | Troutdale, Oregon

Reynolds High School is the second-largest high school in Oregon, serving a culturally diverse student body of over 2,700 students from several Portland-area communities, including Troutdale, Fairview, Gresham and Wood Village. Originally constructed in 1978, the high school facility experienced multiple expansions over the past 40 years, including construction of separate CTE, arts and P.E. buildings on the same campus. BRIC designed a significant renovation and addition to Reynolds High School, increasing its classroom and core capacity to 3,000 students, improving connectivity between existing campus buildings, and providing instructional spaces to support next generation learning approaches for students. The addition will include 18 new general classrooms, science labs and life skills rooms, as well as a new counseling suite with a highly-visible career center. The new space will effectively link the peripheral campus buildings to the main school facility, providing improved connectivity between career and technical education (CTE) programs and core academic areas. The commons will be expanded to enhance student dining and social activities. A new main entrance will provide secure, yet welcoming, access to the facility.

The current facility remains occupied during construction, with the goal of minimizing disruptions to students. Project completion is anticipated in fall of 2018.
