Every decision is held accountable to the values and outcomes that matter most to the Renton community.

BRIC's work with the District began in 2023 with a comprehensive feasibility study, exploring a range of design options to assess the development of a new Renton High School campus through expansion of the existing site. The team paired robust community engagement with rigorous research, analysis, and cost estimating to deliver a detailed, actionable roadmap.

As the project transitioned into design, the team continued to center the guiding principles established through that process—holding every decision accountable to the values and outcomes that matter most to the Renton community.

From design solutions to budget and schedule management, BRIC's project approach is shaped by and held accountable to the priorities identified by RHS's diverse stakeholders. These guiding priorities, known as "North Stars," include: Belonging and Campus Unity; Welcoming, Accessible Spaces; Comfort and Holistic Wellbeing; Student Empowerment; and Positive Global Impacts. They serve as a through line from first concept to final construction.

Student representation was central not only to the final design solutions, but to the processes that inspired them. During engagement, our team photographed students and their families and integrated their portraits into our renderings. These images became powerful storytelling tools, showing diverse stakeholders that their values and identities have shaped their spaces. Rather than treating engagement as an extractive process, the team prioritized building authentic trust and buy-in. From listening sessions to on-campus portrait days, every outreach touchpoint was designed to honor the investment students and their families made throughout the design process.
